Rawan Maki's debut collection, "The Waves of the Future" is inspired by the interaction of humans with the environment – both natural and built . Combining her environmental engineering background with fashion design she creates each piece as a “system”. Each of the 12 looks in the collection has an aesthetic story - a past.  She aims to design not in spite of environmental constraints, but to bring to the forefront the beauty of fabrics and practices that minimize environmental impact.
The Waves of the Future is:
The science of how energy changes forms but is never lost
It is the optimism, the resistance of plants
An appreciation of the complete lifecycle of a product
